Individual instruction is great for those who want to explore yoga and/or meditation in a private setting. In this one-on-one session we work to address your personal needs.
Session Fees
30-Minute: $55
1-hour: $75 (A friend can join your session for just $25.)
Small Group Private
In our small group session up to 5 participants will receive in-studio instruction. The cost of a small group session is $160.
Medium/Large Private Session
In this session 6 or more participants will recieve private in-studio instruction. For the medium/large session the first person pays $85 and each additional person pays $20.

What is yoga?
The word yoga, from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as "union" or a method of discipline. A male who practices yoga is called a yogi, a female practitioner, a yogini.
Is yoga a religion?
Yoga is not a religion.
I'm not flexible can I do yoga?
Yes! You are a perfect candidate for yoga. Many people think that they need to be flexible to begin yoga, but that's a little bit like thinking that you need to be able to play tennis in order to take tennis lessons. Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible.
What do I need to begin?
All you really need to begin practicing yoga is your body, your mind, and a bit of curiosity.
Why are you supposed to refrain from eating two to three hours before class?
In yoga practice we twist from side to side, turn upside down, and bend forward and backward. If you have not fully digested your last meal, it will make itself known to you in ways that are not comfortable. If you are a person with a fast-acting digestive system and are afraid you might get hungry or feel weak during yoga class, experiment with a light snack such as yogurt, a few nuts, or juice about 30 minutes to an hour before class.

Thai Yoga Bodywork
Thai Yoga Bodywork is sometimes called lazy man's yoga. Thai massage - the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body's energy ("Sen") lines and pressures points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. No oils or creams are used.

Reiki
Reiki is a form of healing administered though touch and the use of symbols, promoting the bodys healing process on an emotional, mental, physical and spiritual level. Reiki is very similar to spiritual healing where energy enters the body through the crown chakra and is emitted from the palms, reducing stress and aiding relaxation and bringing balance to our lives.
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words: Rei meaning universal power or spirit and Ki meaning life force or energy. Reiki is often known as Universal life force energy. The ki is very similar to the chi used in Chinese acupuncture and Tai Chi, the graceful movement that uses exercise and breathing to flow energy through the body. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you or the receiver must believe in order to use Reiki. It is not dependent on any belief system and will work whether you believe in it or not.

What Happens During a Reiki Session?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. It begins with the Reiki Practitioner taking information about your physical and emotional concerns and the specific areas that you would like to focus on. After doing so, you will lay fully clothed on a massage table, or may be seated if necessary. The practitioner will place their hands on or slightly above key areas of the body to transmit Reiki energy. Your practitioner will hold each hand position for 3 - 5 minutes.
People's experiences vary during a Reiki session; however, most people feel the energy as heat. They may feel tingling, vibrating or waves of energy from the hands of the practitioner. I have found that being a student in Juneous beginning yoga class has moved me to a new awareness of the practice. Juneous Alexander Pettijohn's journey into yoga began as a home practice with the guidance of his first yoga book Yoga for Every Body by Paul Harvey. After a few months of practicing at home, he took his first yoga class at the YWCA in Washington DC and was immediately hook after noticing the physical changes in his body. Going through his first yoga teacher training program helped Juneous fully understand that yoga was much more than a physical exercise. Juneous is a Register Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) through Yoga Alliance. He is a graduate Yogafit and Samayama Yoga at City Fitness Gym in Washington, DC. Juneous also certified Life Coach from Genesis International Consulting Firm. Juneous is applying the quote "Great things in life are achieved with passion" and is using his passion for yoga and helping others to discover their true passions by founding Transforming U, LLC .
Juneous is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio has been a Washington, DC resident for 6 years and is an active member of various civic, community, and professional organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated, Toastmasters International, and American Public Health Association.
